February 2015: Olivia Carroll
Introducing our February Leading Woman of the Month! Olivia Carroll is a senior majoring in Occupational Therapy and minoring in Psychology. She began a Master’s program in Occupational Therapy this year, and at the top occupational therapy program in the country no less! Besides her commitment to Theta, Olivia has a passion for volunteering with USC organizations such as Best Buddies, USC Street Voice and Kicks for Kids. She has worked at an early intervention clinic that provides occupational therapy services for children with disabilities as well as many homeless shelters in Los Angeles and the Bay Area. Last semester Olivia was also a student intern at Little Company of Mary Medical Center working in the rehabilitation unit. This semester she is looking forward to her internship with Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services! In May, Olivia will begin working at a skilled nursing home doing geriatric rehabilitation. Olivia is interested in working with adults with traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries and her goal is to incorporate some of her favorite hobbies, such as dance and outdoor activities, into therapy! She would like to pursue more research in the future and strives to be an advocate for people with disabilities.
