At Theta, we believe the bonds of sisterhood are something that can never be broken. We are so grateful to be surrounded by such charismatic, intelligent, and caring women. Each semester, to celebrate and foster our bonds as sisters, our Sisterhood Chair organizes numerous fun events. This year, our sisterhood events have included:
Aside from these formally planned events, Omicrons are always hanging out together. In fact, every Sunday night, a large group piles into the house’s TV Room to watch favorite TV shows. We always enjoy study breaks and dinners downstairs together.
One of the most anticipated events every Fall is Presents. Held over Parents’ Weekend, Presents is an opportunity for Omicron’s new members to introduce their parents to life at the Theta house and USC. In a large ceremony, each new member is introduced by the New Member Educators to the visiting families. After the ceremony, everyone enjoys a beautiful brunch. Each new member wears a white dress with a floral wreath in her hair as part of a longstanding tradition of the Omicron chapter.
As part of Omicron’s sisterhood, each member has a Big Sister and Little Sister. During Fall, each new member gets a Big Sis after about a month in the house – this “Big” is an older member who can show her the ropes, introduce her to lots of new people, and act as a role model. Big/Little Reveal is the annual event when new members find out who their Bigs are.
